Following a recent project win, our client is now seeking an experienced Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team on a major data centre project in Frankfurt, Germany. This role will play a critical part in the commercial management of complex mechanical and electrical packages on a high-value, technically demanding scheme.
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor will take ownership of the M&E commercial function on the project, managing key subcontract packages and ensuring robust cost control throughout the project lifecycle. Responsibilities will include:
• Full commercial management of mechanical and electrical work packages
• Procurement and negotiation of major M&E subcontract packages
• Preparation, submission, and agreement of interim valuations
• Management of variations, change control, and final accounts
• Cost forecasting, reporting, and cash flow management for M&E elements
• Ensuring contractual compliance and risk mitigation
• Working closely with project, design, and commissioning teams
• Supporting and mentoring junior members of the commercial team
• Liaising with clients, consultants, and specialist subcontractors
• Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline
• Significant experience in an M&E or building services quantity surveying role
• Proven track record delivering large-scale, complex M&E packages (data centres, pharma, healthcare, or similar environments advantageous)
• Strong knowledge of M&E systems and associated commercial challenges
• Excellent understanding of construction contracts and commercial procedures
• Strong negotiation, reporting, and stakeholder management skills
• Proficient in commercial and cost management systems
• Willingness to be site-based in Frankfurt (relocation or expat package typically available)
